Details and specifics:
Is this one of the finest Jags in the Country? Must be the ultimate Dream Show-Car and what’s more, it comes with quite an unusual history. The last owner was a City businessman and keen JEC Member. He found the car in a part-restored condition back in August 1992 and embarked upon an enthusiastic quest, to return it to its former glory. He decided not to attempt the task himself, so commissioned the most reputable (and therefore most expensive) Marque Specialists to undertake the project on his behalf.
The car was then taken apart and all rebuilding work, completed in professional Workshops over an extended period of many years. There is a Photographic build history and a great deal of bills amounting to nearly £60,000!
Why, you may well ask, would anyone spend 17 years of his life and fork out nearly 60 grand, only to sell the finished car for a fraction of this figure?? Well, we don’t know the answer either, except the previous owner’s loss will be someone else’s gain, so read on….
The original car left the factory in Metallic Gold, which the owner decided to change to a Jaw-droppingly attractive Carmen Red [this paintjob alone cost £6000] To compliment the new coachwork, the upholstery was renewed with Burgundy-piped Ivory Leather, all interior work carried out by Classic Car Leather Specialist (ex Rolls-Royce Trimshop, Crewe) Also the woodwork now has its original glass-like factory finish. Open the bonnet and you will find another truly amazing sight - a fully detailed engine bay, with polished alloy cam covers, carbs, chromed air intake, newly enamelled exhaust stack and pristine under-bonnet paint finish.
Current Spec includes Laycock Overdrive, Chrome Wire Wheels, Coopercraft Brakes, Odyssey Battery. Period Radio.
Supplied with 1964 buff logbook, Original (non suffix) Index plate, old MOT’s, manuals, toolkit, Daimler/Jaguar Heritage Certificate. Has covered a mere 600 miles since completion and only been driven on sunny days. Now ready for the Concours d’Elegance Show Ring or for more extensive touring, affording the new lucky owner many hours of excitement and enjoyment in this unique, British classic, which is just begging to be used.
